Hatha Yoga Classes
Hatha yoga is a unique form of exercise which has wonderful physical and emotional benefits. It is both a physical and mental discipline that helps to achieve peacefulness of body and mind. In a hatha yoga class we practice yoga postures, breathing techniques and deep relaxation. Hatha yoga also includes “Sun Salutations”. This is a series of postures, one flowing into the next. This builds aerobic fitness and tones the muscles. Each class finishes with a deep relaxation session. Neasa’s hatha yoga classes promote a calming state which allows the mind and body to relax easily.
There are many potential health benefits to hatha yoga. These include:
-
Stress reduction.
While practicing hatha yoga, you consciously focus the mind on the quiet precise movement of the poses. This draws the focus away from daily stresses and calms the mind as you move your body through poses that require balance and concentration. This helps deal with stress and improve concentration, anxiety and insomnia, by helping with sleep problems.
-
Increased physical fitness.
After practicing hatha yoga for some time the yogi may notice an improvement in strength, balance, flexibility and range of motion. This leads to a healthier and more energetic you! Yoga has also been proven to reduce heart rate and blood pressure.
